The Sherrills
Meet my family: my husband Sam, I'm Stephanie, our daughters Molly and Amelia, and our son Ethan.
Sam is a busy entrepreneur. He has a captivating, innovative, charismatic personality that wins people over, but those traits can be weaknesses in a typical corporate world. He's tried to fit in to the office setting, and is usually not well received after a few months. We've discovered that if we want a consistent office job, he'll have to blend by being just like everyone else. It's hard to do that to my husband, so he's taken to living an entrepreneur's life for the last few years, as he started a Christmas lights business. Through the months of September-February he is busy; 6 days a week, keeping everything running. It is a challenge for our family, but Sam is so happy doing it, and the business continues to show growth each season. Employment the rest of the year is something we're always figuring out. We brainstorm about other year-round options, but are not set on one idea just yet. Life!
I am a SAHM. I love it, and struggle with it at the same time. We have three very different personalities in our children, so the same parenting method won't work for each individual. It's an adventure every day, but just because it's difficult, doesn't make me regret the choice. I find my greatest memories, love, and happiness with my kids and husband. Sometimes I catch glimpses of my hard work paying off in them, and that's worth the while for me.
I also really enjoy music. I bought a guitar for my birthday and have been teaching myself. It's a slow process, but I enjoy something to work at and have fun with just for me. I've been really dedicated to my health lately, and that feels like a part time job, with food prep and exercise, but I love it. Being in nature is also a hobby of mine. Something about being outside always puts me in a better mood. There is so much to be in awe of and gratitude for, and enjoy in this world. Some of my favorites are Yosemite and the California coast. Although, we've been finding some gems since being in Georgia.
Molly(7) is our artist. I've never seen a kid more into creating than her. We are constantly running out of glue sticks and colored construction paper. She's won a couple art contests for her grade at school, and we hope to continue to support that hobby. She's driven my doing the right thing and by helping others be happy. We're glad to have her be the example for our younger two.
Amelia(5) is the spit-fire, wild one of the family. She consistently surprises us with her unique ideas and bravery. She isn't afraid to be the guinea pig example for her class, she is loud, determined, and carefree. We hope to foster that character and are excited to see where she takes her life as she grows.
Ethan(3) is our sweet boy. He is very passionate about cars, Paw Patrol, PJ Mask. He's the youngest and a bit bashful. We can't give him any undesired attention or he'll run away. He's is incredibly thoughtful. I find him trying to put away dishes (even dirty ones) from the dishwasher, putting his clothes from his hamper into the dryer because he thinks that's how they get clean, or coming to give me a random hug. We know that genuine kindness will be a treasure to many friends and family forever.
